Learn how to access the various types of appointment we offer.

Urgent Appointments

If you've fallen ill, call us on 01706 664140 from 8am and we will assess you for an urgent same day appointment.

Routine Appointments

GP appointments are available up to two weeks in advance online through the NHS App.

Appointments with other clinicians can be booked up to six weeks in advance.

Out of Hours Appointments

Call us to book evening, weekend and Bank Holiday appointments.

These are provided by the local Primary Care Network at local GP practices.

Changing appointments

Change or cancel your appointment in the NHS App. Alternatively, call us - you can contact us on PATCHS if we're closed.

Your NHS number

You need your NHS number in order to setup and use your NHS Account and the NHS App.

You can use the NHS website to find your NHS number.

SMS Reminders

Make sure we have your current mobile number and we will text you 24 hours before your appointment to remind you what time you’re due to come and see us.

Other Appointments

We offer a range of different types of appointment. Here is how to access them.

  • Online Consultations: For non-urgent medical queries, such as test results, repeat medication queries and ongoing medical problems, you can have a consultation online here through PATCHS.
  • Under 12s: Children under 12 needing a same day appointment will be offered a face-to-face or telephone consultation with a prescribing clinician on the same working day.
  • Phone Appointments: Call us before 10.30am. We triage all requests and book phone appointments based on urgency.
  • Home Visits: Call us before 10.30am. We triage all requests and, where appropriate, will arrange for someone to come and see you.
  • Blood Tests: Call us to book an appointment.
  • Other Clinics: (e.g. Asthma, Diabetes, Counselling) Call us to book an appointment.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs
